Is it all in your mind? There may be more than meets the eye
After a hectic month at work most people find that they are more stressed and tired. As an Osteopath I normally see people who have back problems as that is what we are most renowned to treat. However, more and more people are coming to see me for headaches that are just not going away as they start to find that popping a pill for their headache is just not helping.
There are different types but the most common one that I treat is tension-type headaches which feel like your normal, everyday headaches. You can feel tightness in your neck, around the sides of your head and towards the back of your eyes.
Osteopathy can greatly help. By working on the neck muscles with soft tissue massage, increasing your neck movements with manipulation and with cranial techniques we can help to reduce your headache frequency and intensity.
Little things you can do to try and help yourself?
Drink plenty of water to avoid dehydration
Eating regularly and getting a balanced diet
Being aware of posture
Try and move from your desk every 20-30 minutes
Headaches should not be a regular, every day thing you should feel. Together we can get to and treat the root cause of the problem not just mask the symptoms.
